Introduction To Pipefitting And Tools
In this course, students will learn the usage and basic concept of plumbing and pipefitting. The differences between plumbing and pipefitting are key to understanding the content and goal of this course. In this course, students will learn the essential pipe fitting tools, skills, and operations of this plumbing and pipefitting course. Additionally, students will also learn general safety in the use of various hand and power tools. Finally, students will understand the diverse types of career paths they may pursue with this knowledge. These careers include working jobs in households, companies, projects, and industries as certified technicians.
Pipe Welding Basics And Safety
In this course, students will learn pipe welding basics and equipment safety. They will learn about welding, different types of piping equipment, tool handling, and proper techniques to reduce the risk of injury. In addition, students will learn about the hazards and safety procedures governing the use of ladders and scaffolds. Finally, the students will also learn safety precautions and operations of motorized equipment. The knowledge gained in this course will provide a safe working environment and a solid foundation for pipefitters’ success in both the domestic and industrial workplace.
Blueprint Reading And Shop Math
In this course, students will learn about blueprint reading and shop math. By gaining the knowledge of shop math, understanding key terminology, and performing base knowledge experiments, the students will begin to formulate a foundation for pipe fitting. Blueprint reading is an essential piece to becoming a professional pipefitter. Students will learn how to accurately read and interpret a blueprint layout to achieve such goals as appropriately tasked. While applying such previously learned things as shop math, a student will compound that learning by assessing drawing scales and dimensions. Students will also learn computer drawings, specific views and other important skill sets to become proficient blueprint readers.
Pipefitting And Plumbing Valves
In this course, students will learn about pipefitting and plumbing valves. As one of the most critical parts of pipe fitting jobs, students should know about the properties, proper uses, and installation methods of these valves. They would also understand the storage and handling processes. Students will learn how to identify different types of valves and know how to assemble and install them. In addition, students will train on how to package O-rings in a valve. They will learn how to troubleshoot and maintain various valves. This pipefitter training course will be valuable and necessary in any certified pipefitter’s career.
Fabrication, Welding, And Installation
In this course, the students will learn about pipe fabrication, welding, and installation processes. They will learn the different types of basic and advanced pipe fabrication. They will also learn how to operate pipe cutting and fabrication equipment and modify the materials to the required scales appropriately. In addition, they will work on underground and above-ground pipe installation methods. Also, they will learn about the fabrication for specialty bends and intersections. Finally, the course will introduce pipe welding procedures like STICK and TIG welding on pipes. The knowledge gained in this course will help students be able to fabricate and install a pipe system on their own.
Rigging, Standards, And Specifications
In this course, students will learn about rigging, pipefitting standards, and specifications. They will learn about the use and inspection of essential equipment and the hardware used in rigging. Students will also learn about the hazards and safety rules of the rigging process. They will learn about the process of rigging and lifting pipes. In addition, students will learn to describe pipefitting standards, codes, and specifications. Knowledge gained in this course will provide a general concept of the rigging process and the pipe fitting standards, regulations, and specifications needed in the workplace.

Flexible Class Schedule
By collaborating with PTTI’s Admissions department, our staff will help prospective students enroll in flexible class schedules to fit their current plans. Morning classes occur from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., and evening classes run from 3:00 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Snacks/Refreshments Served Daily
PTTI offers students the benefits of our food drive to help themselves with nutritious snacks and refreshments throughout the day. In addition, PTTI provides meals for you to take home, so they don’t have to worry about shopping while receiving their education. PTTI gets a shipment every Monday and lasts the whole week.
